Munchkin — inside Canada's first infant formula facility
The Constraint
Munchkin needed a process video and photography for the launch of their new formula line. The shoot had to happen inside a 320,000-square-foot facility in Kingston that had just received CFIA certification. Production could not stop. Contamination was not an option. Every piece of gear had to be sanitized. Our crew had to suit up in full jumpsuits.
What we did:
We completed the facility’s food-safety orientation before we arrived. Every camera and audio piece was sanitized and approved for the floor. We kept the crew small, just two camera operators and a director. We worked around the production line instead of asking it to stop. We filmed the process from raw material to finished product and photographed the facility for their launch materials.
The shoot:
1 days. 1 location. Kingston, Ontario. Crew of 6.
The outcome:
One process video and a library of photography. Munchkin used the footage in their product launch campaign and continues to use it across their website and marketing materials.

Minimal disruption, by design
Before filming starts, we walk through your facility with you. If we can’t visit before the project begins, photos and a floor plan are usually enough. We discuss which areas we can film, which areas are restricted, the best times to work, and who we should speak to each day.
On the filming day, we keep our crew small, normally just three people. A smaller team means fewer safety checks, less disruption to your staff, and quicker setup between shots. We work around your production instead of getting in the way.
If production changes during the day, we adjust our plan. A machine may stop, or a job may finish earlier than expected. This is common in manufacturing, so we always plan for it.
